Ingredients

See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all ingredients and quantities.
- Brown Sugar: I recommend using light brown sugar to enhance the sweetness and offer a light caramel flavor to the creamy dip.
- Vanilla: A splash of vanilla extract will help deepen the flavors of the caramel in this dessert dip.
- Cream Cheese: You will use cream cheese to help add decadence to the recipe.
- Caramel Sauce/Dip: The key is to use quality caramel, which will be the base of this dip’s flavor.
- Heath Bits: These are crunchy, sweet, and nutty-flavored and can be bought in the baking aisle beside the chocolate chips.
- Peanuts: The peanuts add an excellent crunch factor to the dip with a hit of salt.
- Apples: Feel free to pick any of your favorite varieties of apples to slice and use for dipping.
Substitutions and Variations
- Homemade caramel sauce or a salted caramel sauce will enrich this dip’s flavor.
- You could also swap the caramel sauce with a butterscotch sauce for a twist in flavor.
- Drizzle the top with hot fudge or even chocolate sauce for an added layer of flavor.
- Swap the peanuts with pecans and walnuts, or omit the nuts altogether.
- Add some festive sprinkles to fit the holiday theme to add a pop of color.

How to Make Caramel Apple Dip

Step 1: Add the cream cheese to a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to whip until light and creamy. Add in the brown sugar and the vanilla and mix to combine. Stir to combine.
Step 2: Spread the mixture in your bowl in an even layer. I find using a spatula works great.
Step 3: Next, you will want to take your caramel sauce and lightly spread it over the cream cheese mixture, making sure to spread it all over the top.
Step 4: Top with the bar bits and nuts. When ready, serve with sliced apples or other fruit. You can also cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.

Tips and Tricks
Storage of Caramel Apple Dip
Refrigerate your caramel dip for up to 4 to 5 days in a sealed or covered container. You will find the toppings will soften a bit as they sit in the fridge for a more extended period.
Due to the cream cheese, it is recommended not to freeze any dip.

Recipe FAQs
Of course! Feel free to use chopped walnuts, pecans, chocolate chips, or whatever sounds good. Add them in tablespoon amounts; otherwise, they may overwhelm the dip.
One way to prevent your apple slices from browning quickly is to give them a lemon water bath and then dry them completely. You can do this by adding a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to a bowl of cold water and letting the apple slices sit in that for about 10 minutes before drying and eating or storing them in an airtight container in the fridge.
You can if you’d like, but brown sugar gives a warmer, richer flavor than granulated sugar.
