About Miranda
Hi. I’m Miranda. I love peanut butter, food network, and shoes. I dislike coconut. So, you won’t be seeing any of that shenanigans here. I’m a stay-at-home mom who has decided to try her hand at blogging. I live in upstate NY and visit north central PA often. My mama and dad live down there, where I was born and raised.
My little boy, Lucian, is growing far too fast for me. He’s such an awesome little guy. I just can’t get enough of his cuteness.
My husband, Wesley, has been known to call me his old woman wife. I have “old woman” interests. I have a passion for baking and gardening. My husband and baby boy love the sweets and aren’t so fond of the vegetables. I used to be artistic and want to try to get back in touch with that side, but instead of drawing hopefully it’s with photography. I like to sew and try my best to crochet. Sadly, I only have the granny stitch down. Maybe I should YouTube some crocheting videos for some help. I tried to use the books, but they start using abbreviations and I get confused.. quickly.
I like to take surveys to earn money for my baking things. I bought my kitchen-aid mixer with survey money. I have found a few places I really don’t enjoy doing them from and find it not worth the while so the income is a little less now. Oh well!
I’m a cat lover. I have three kitties, but my oldest one has my heart. We even share a pillow at night, so yes, waking up with a mouth full of Kiki hair is part of the routine. My hubby is a dog lover. We have two little pains in the butts.
Alli, the youngest and the one pictured above, loves to lay under my feet while I’m in the kitchen. She likes to be anywhere I am and in the middle of anything I’m doing.
About Cookie Dough and Oven Mitt
So, I’ve been interested in really trying to up my blog. I had suggested to my husband that I get my own domain. He, of course, was supportive and wanted to make me happy. I browsed around and found a host I wanted. I started the process of ordering everything and the box popped up where you put your domain name.
I had no idea on what I wanted to name my blog. When I started out I just had a basic name, “the baking mom.” I wanted something snazzy. I had to put everything on hold to think long and hard about what my domain should be. I even consulted with my husband.
Finally, after almost a week of picking my brain for a name I couldn’t live without, my husband says to me while we were laying in bed, what about play on words. I was game for any idea. He says cookie dough and oven mitt. You know, like Romeo and Juliet. I love love loved it. It’s a far fetch, but it works for me. So, with that story being said, this is Cookie Dough and Oven Mitt; the baking story of Romeo and Juliet.
