Ingredients
See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for all ingredients and quantities.
Crust
Oreos – For this dessert, we reached for Golden Oreo cookies. They offer a sweet and cookie-like base.
Butter –You need melted butter to help the crushed Oreos form together to create a crust.
Strawberry Sauce
Strawberries – For the sauce, use hulled and quartered berries. Choose bright, plump, ripe berries.
Sugar – Granulated sugar will sweeten the berries and help thicken the sauce as it cooks.
Cheesecake Layer
Cream Cheese – Sit your cheesecake out before you plan to serve it up. This is needed so you get that creamy cheesecake layer you need.
Powdered Sugar – This will sweeten the cheesecake layer and help create a nice, thick texture.
Heavy Whipping Cream – Add heavy cream to thin the mixture and richen the flavor. As it whips up, it becomes super light and airy.
Vanilla – Add a splash of vanilla to enhance the sweet and aromatic notes in the dessert.
Strawberry Jello Layer
Strawberry Jello – This jello helps brighten the flavor and offers a bolder strawberry flavor.
Water – To make the jello, you will use cold and boiling water. I recommend using filtered water.
Whipped Cream – Mix the jello with whipped cream to make it ultra-airy, creamy, and light.
Whipped Cream
Heavy Whipping Cream – You will use heavy whipping cream to make homemade whipped cream that goes on top.
Powdered Sugar – A little powdered sugar will sweeten the heavy whipping cream and create that smooth texture.
Substitutions and Variations
- Graham Cracker Crust: Skip the Golden Oreos and swap with crushed graham crackers.
- Chocolate Oreo Crust: Want a bit of chocolate for this recipe? Use classic Oreos for a sweet chocolate flavor.
- Toppings: Spread freeze-dried Oreos instead of fresh ones around for a crunch factor. Sometimes, they also offer a tangy or sour flavor.
- Chocolate: White chocolate can be used for drizzling on top, or use chocolate shavings for dressing up the top of the dessert.

How to Make Strawberry Lasagna

Step 1: Start by working on making the crust. You will crush up the cookies with their filling. I used a food processor.
Step 2 & 3: Add the melted butter and mix until the butter coats all of the crumbs well.
Step 4: Pour the crust mixture into the pan and press firmly to form the crust. Then refrigerate the crust while you work on the other layers.

Step 5: You will add the strawberries in the saucepan with the sugar for the strawberry sauce.
Step 6: Cook for 10-13 minutes, allowing the mixture to break the berries and thicken.
Step 7: Allow it to cool.

Step 8: For the cheesecake layer, beat the cream cheese at medium speed until it is light and fluffy.
Step 9: Add in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream, and then add in the vanilla. You want the mixture to form a thick mousse-like texture; this takes a few minutes to reach.
Step 10: Once done, spread it over the crust and make it nice and even.

Step 11: Then, for the strawberry jello, you will pour the jello into hot water. Stir to dissolve, then add your cold water.
Step 12: With a whisk, you will mix in the whipped topping and stir till combined.
Step 13: Spread over the cheesecake layer, and refrigerate as directed.

Step 14: Once it’s set up, spoon on the strawberry sauce.
Step 15 & 16: Make your whipped cream and spread it over the top of the dessert. Then refrigerate again until you are ready to serve up.
Tips For Making
Allow time to chill the layers of each one in the fridge as directed. Otherwise, the layers can blend; you want to have defined layers.
When you are working on the crust, make sure to crush the cookies fine. Then mix well with the melted butter. Then, firmly press into the pan to ensure it is firm and will slice well when cut.
If you want to add strawberries to the dessert, ensure you do so with a light hand when you place them so they don’t sink into the dessert. Also, know that the berries will leak over time and water down the dessert, so add them on top before serving.
How to Store and Freeze
Refrigerate the strawberry lasagna in an airtight container for 3-5 days. You will find it is best to eat within the first few days of making it.
This does freeze that well regardless of the cream cheese and in fact I like it slightly frozen. Of course it can be thawed out and the texture of the cream cheese may be slightly different.
Cover it with two layers of plastic wrap and a layer of heavy duty aluminum foil and place in the freezer for up to 3 months. You can then place it in the fridge overnight to thaw completely.

Recipe FAQs
When you press on the package, softened cream cheese is when you want to have the cream cheese feel soft. This means it will whip up nice and creamy. Aim to let it sit out 30 minutes to an hour before you plan to use it.
If you want to double the recipe reach for two 9×13 pans for making this dessert. Then double the recipe as directed. A great dessert for a larger crowd.
No, you will follow the directions on this recipe card instead of the box. You will use hot and cold water, but you will not make it all the same. If you do so it will mess up the recipe.

Strawberry Lasagna
Ingredients
Crust
- 40 golden oreos
- 1/2 cup butter melted
Strawberry Sauce
- 2 1/2 cups strawberries hulled and quartered
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Cheesecake Layer
- 12 ounces cream cheese room temperature
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/4 heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Strawberry Jello Layer
- 3 ounce box strawberry jello
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
Whipped Cream
- 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
Crust
- Add the golden Oreos into a food processor or blender. Pulse/blend into fine crumbs.
- Pour in the melted butter and continue to pulse/blend until the butter has coated all of the crumbs.
- Pour the crust mixture into a 9×13 baking dish.
- Firmly and evenly press the cookie crumbs into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Place in the refrigerator to firm up while preparing on the next layer.
Strawberry Sauce
- Place the fresh strawberries and sugar in a medium saucepan. Place over medium heat and cook for 10 to 13 minutes until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens.
- Let cool to room temperature.
Cheesecake Layer
- In a large mixing bowl, add the cream cheese. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Add in the powdered sugar and beat until combined.
- Add in the vanilla extract and heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup at a time and mix until each addition is combined before adding the next.
- Once all of the heavy whipping cream is incorporated, turn the hand mixer to medium/high speed and beat until a thick, creamy mousse forms, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Spread the cheesecake mixture on top of the crust using an angled spatula. Make sure to spread the layer all the way to the edges.
Strawberry Jello Layer
- In a medium bowl, add the jello mix and boiling water. Stir until the jello is completely dissolved.
- Pour in the cold water and stir until combined.
- Let the jello cool on the counter for 10 minutes. It will be runny.
- Add the whipped topping into the cooled jello. Using a whisk, mix the strawberry jello and whipped topping until completely incorporated.
- Add the strawberry layer in dollops on top of the cheesecake layer. Using an angled spatula, spread the strawberry layer evenly on top of the cheesecake layer.
- Place in the fridge and chill for 45 minutes.
- Once the strawberry jello layer is chilled, spoon the strawberry sauce on top of the jello layer. Don’t pour the sauce as it will form holes in the layer beneath it.
Whipped Cream
- In a large mixing bowl, add in the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. Using a hand mixer, beat on low speed until soft peaks form. Once soft peaks form, turn the hand mixer up to medium speed and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add dollops of the whipped cream on top of the strawberry sauce. Using an angled spatula, spread the whipped cream evenly on top and to the edges of the pan.
- Cover the dessert lasagna with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight until set.
- Cut and serve.
