So, it’s coming out on my favorite holiday, HALLOWEEN! Just in time for cookie season to get started. I would say nothing is better than baking in a cool house BUT here in New York, I’m pretty sure we just had the hottest day of summer or fall. Yesterday was a doozy (for NY), but I baked on.
There are 160 recipes in the book. That’s a lot of cookies, right?! Don’t worry though, I shared the love with everyone I knew in town while recipe testing for some quality control. I also did my share of QC. Totally gained a little weight, but it was so worth it. There are some classic cookies, new, creative cookies, seasonal cookies, and loads of brownies and bars. Did I mention I included tips for each and every one of them?
I went into depth on how to achieve your favorite chocolate chip cookie and brownie, icing techniques, freezing cookies, packaging them as gifts, and the list goes on.
I love to stick to simple flavors in my recipes for the blog and wanted to keep the flow going with my book as well. I used ingredients that can be found in your pantry or at your local supermarket. The most exotic thing I think I used was either bakery emulsion or gel food color. If you’ve been following for awhile, I bet you’re already familiar with both of those.
I also wanted to inlclude a list with links to my most reached for ingredients and tools for the book.
