This Vanilla Frosting is creamy, smooth, and bursting with rich buttery vanilla flavor. It's an easy to make frosting recipe with just 4 ingredients and comes together in minutes.
In a large bowl, add the 1 cup salted butter. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until creamed.
Add in the 3 cups powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of the heavy whipping cream. Beat on low speed until most of the powdered sugar is worked into the frosting. Turn the mixer to medium and continue to beat until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
If the frosting is too thick, add 1 tablepoon of heavy whipping cream at a time and beat in. Add another ½ to 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream if it’s still not the desired consistency and beat until light and fluffy.
