Lemon Poppy Seed Scones

These lemon poppy seed scones are so light and fluffy. They're sweet, but also have a punch of tart lemon flavor.

They're speckled with poppy seeds and dipped in a lemon glaze. They're the perfect scone to wash down with some tea!

How To Make Lemon Poppy Seed Scones


- sugar - flour - poppy seeds - baking powder - baking soda - lemons - salt - butter - yogurt - vanilla extract - lemon extract - egg - lemon juice

Step 1

In a large bowl, add in the flour, sugar, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and lemon zest. Whisk to combine.

In a smaller bowl, add in the yogurt, vanilla extract, and lemon extract. Whisk until the extracts are incorporated.

Add in the lemon juice, and egg. Whisk until everything is combined. Set aside

Step 4

Grab the butter from the freezer and add it into the large bowl of dry ingredients. Using a pastry blender, cut the butter until it resembles a coarse meal.
