This Slow Cooker Berry Cobbler is a delicious homemade cobbler that is studded with juicy, sweet berries and best served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. How to Make Slow Cooker Berry Cobbler

  1. Start by greasing your slow cooker. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Then in another bowl whisk up your egg, oil, and milk. Now you are going to add the wet ingredients to the dry to make the cobbler portion.
  2. Spread the cobbler on the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add the frozen fruit in a bowl with the flour, sugar and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture on top of the cobbler batter. Cover and cook as directed.

How to Serve Cobbler

I love serving this berry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream. You can also eat it plain, or even sprinkle on some sugar. This is a fun and easy dessert, that you can dress up in different ways.

Even drizzling on a little chocolate sauce or caramel sauce would be a fun pairing.

You don't have to use a bag of assorted mixed berries. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are typically the mixed berries found in the bags at the store. You can do any berry combination or even just one type of berry as long as the same measurement for the frozen berries is the same.
Feel free to pick what you want or what you have on hand when making this crockpot cobbler recipe.

Can I use fresh fruit?

If you do not want to use frozen berries, feel free to dice up and use fresh fruit. I find that frozen fruit is affordable and quick. But if you have some fresh fruit on hand, go right ahead and swap it.

How to store cobbler?

This cobbler needs to be stored in the refrigerator. It will last for around 4-5 days, then after that, you will find it become very soggy. You can eat leftover mixed berry cobbler cold or warm it up in the microwave, for a fresh out of the oven flavor.

Can you freeze berry cobbler?

Yes, this cobbler can be frozen. Place in an airtight freezer container. Store for 2-3 months. Then when you want some cobbler warm in the microwave on defrost. Or refrigerate in the fridge overnight.

Ingredients

Berry Filling

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • â…› teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups frozen mixed berries

Instructions

Cobbler

  • Grease the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick baking spray.
  • Add the flour, soda, baking powder, and cinnamon to a medium bowl. Whisk until combined.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and oil.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: egg, milk and oil until the egg is incoporated.
  • Add the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Spread the cobbler in the bottom of the prepared slow cooker.

Berry Filling

  • Add the flour, sugar, and salt to a large bowl. Stir it combine.
  • Add in the frozen berries and continue to stir until the berries are coated with the dry ingredients.
  • Spoon the berry mixture over the batter in the slow cooker.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours. If you want to suck up some of of the moisture, place a paper towel between the slow cooker and it's lid.
  • Serve warm topped with ice cream or whipped topping.
