Summer is in full swing here and I’m anxious to announce the August Baking Challenge! I have zucchini on the brain since my garden is overflowing with it. Scroll to the bottom of the post to find out what the monthly baking challenge is going to be! You can check out previous monthly baking challenges too.
There were only two participants this month. I’ve been working on a couple of projects during July and now August, so I don’t think I was able to promote the challenge as well as I should have. That’s great news for the 2 people that created the recipes though.
Monthly Baking Challenge
For this month’s recipe, I picked the best zucchini bars recipe that’s on the blog. It has both shredded zucchini and carrots in it. It makes a large jelly roll pan, but you can either divide the recipe in half or bake a really thick zucchini bar in a 9×13 pan.
Keep in mind that the baking time will be different. You’ll need to keep your eye on the recipe and test it by inserting a toothpick in the center of the bars. You’re looking for a few crumbs or a clean toothpick.

3. Share your photo in the Cookie Dough and Oven Mitt group with the hashtag #bakingchallenge by July 31st at 11:59 PST. You’ll have to request to join the group if you haven’t already.
