My darling husband suggested a long time ago that I should take pictures of all the things we do and share them on the blog. I’m not sure how many people are actually interested in learning more about my life, but hey. Let’s give this a try anyway. It is my blog, right.
This is a root beer float, my friends. I got hooked on them the last time we went to the ice cream stand. I don’t care for ice cream cones or ice cream in general, but my goodness. I love myself some root beer float. I can down one of these babies in about 3 seconds. The only side effects are the brain freezes and the inches I’m rapidly gaining on my waste.
I love picking berries. This is the first time we picked blueberries near where I grew up. There were still a lot of berries ripening up. We ended up with 11 pounds of big beautiful berries. Wesley’s bucket had a few more ounces in his, which I probably put in there with the four handfuls I contributed so he won. I wasn’t aware it was a contest until the cashier started weighing our buckets.
As we were leaving the blueberry patch, I spotted this big ol’ girl. I actually took this picture because Lucian wasn’t with us and I wanted to show him the cow. He stayed with his grandparents and went to a parade.
We have quite a few amish people around us. I love going to a bulk shop they have. They have tons of baking supplies and spices. Some of the things they sell are things you wouldn’t find in a regular store, so I of course pick them up. The first time we went there it was like a culture shock. It was dark and a bit cold in the store, which is just their basement. No electric makes it a little fuzzy when trying to read.
This is my back seat companion when we make trips to see my parents.
We made it to the Potter County Fair this year. Lucian loved the carousel and I loved the taffy and hot donuts. I hate riding any kind of rides, so here’s daddy riding with Lucian.
Here are my two handsome men at the fair. I couldn’t help myself. It had to be posted.
We played a little at the fair and Lucian danced a lot. He really shook a leg for the female singer. She even talked about him. He’s a big flirt. He can win anyone’s heart.
So, we went camping once this month. We were supposed to go again this weekend, but they were calling for rain all weekend. Rain that I haven’t seen a drop of. This is where I have some of my fondest memories growing up. So, yeah, I’m pretty partial to this camping area.
We had campsites where we could have our dogs with us. In this picture is my mom’s dog, Slash. He’s the biggest baby. We were taking some trails at the park. Wesley was wrestling with our two wild dogs behind me. Thanks babe. 😀
Look at that cool cat. Oh, and his grandmother. We’re resting our bones after some walking.
..and getting a drink from the jack pump. Jack pumps are awesome. The dogs loved it, as did Lucian.
Well, that’s all for the month of August. Hopefully I have some good pictures for the coming months. I look forward to sharing more adventures.
